Is there a difference between Minitube and Camelot extenders in that one needs to be warmed before inseminating the bitch or can both types of extenders be put in cold?

I am pretty sure any sample needs to be warmed for a few minutes in your hand.

Not minitube. you can do cold.

The idea is that it gets warmed up inside the bitch anyway. What I wonder is, is it not warmed more gently and without shock, when it is warmed in a pocket, a hand or a bra? It only takes a few more minutes.

I have 9 puppies right now from a mini-tube breeding that I inseminated cold.

We never warm the Camelot extender. Used it for years. Always got pups. Thought warming is taking a chance of killing semen.

I agree, I never warm it. I am pretty sure it will thaw and wake the sperm up once inside the bitch.

I use a slide warmer before looking at the last drop for sperm motility. But why on Earth would you risk killing the sperm?

Nothing wrong with dirty glasses.....lol
