How many nipples shuld a bitch have?? Odd question I know, I have a girl with 9.

nine is normal.

So which side has an extra one?

Mine has nine...missing one halfway down. :-)

One of my girls has 10 and 2 nubbins (remember Chandler in Friends and his nubbin??)

The two nubbins look like little warts next to her real nipples and when she's nursing milk will come out of both nubbins. (lucky puppies who get on the nipples with nubbins next to them)

So 10 + 2 for her.

I have read that odd numbers are very common.

My bitch has 11. Missing the one the middle on one side (kind of where the umbilical cord was). We also have the auxiliary nipples at the end.

I think 10 is the norm. I have had 9 and 8 and the girls do fine with pups. Think the odd numbers do run in lines.

If they have nine it just means their coat is buttoned wrong!!!

My oldest girl has 10... then I have 2 girls with 9...

My mama girl and her two daughters each have 10 with the extra two on either side at the end. The extras are right next to the end two nipples. I never noticed if the extra two actually produce milk though...
