And narked!!

a friend and I are trying to book rooms in a pet friendly hotel for the National Specialty in CT .... NOTHING available unless we want to drive almost 2 hours .. between us we were looking at bringing 9-10 dogs to show ... most of the hotels close to the show site do not even allow dogs ... at this point we're thinking we'll just stay home and save our money ...

Where have you looked?

There is availability here:

And here

You have some pretty bad search skills

Here is another: https://reservations.redroof.com/listRoomTypes.do?action=Select&propertyCode=00145

How have you been searching that you only find hotels 2 hours away???

Thanks

for the suggestions .. I've tried Choice hotels, Priority Club, the Crowne Plaza in Providence RI, Marriott (rooms available at almost $300 per night) ..

Re: Thanks

Next time you need a hotel, just Google. I Googled "hotels, brooklyn, ct. " If you do that, I believe there are more than the ones I posted.

Re: Thanks

Thank you, everyone for your kind comments and suggestions, as well as the 'educated moment' wrt Google. Much appreciated - progress is being made ...

Re: Thanks

keep in mind that just because a place has a vacancy, doesn't mean it is somewhere you would want to stay. My son lives in CT and I sent him to scout out some of the places that had vacancies.......he told me to come and stay with him and drive 2 hrs each way because the hotel/motels with vacancies were not nice places. I won't be going because the thought of driving through rush hour traffic in Hartford twice a day sounds like no fun to me.

Re: Thanks

I have stayed at the Red Roof in New London dozens of times. It is dog friendly, and clean, and has lots of area to walk dogs. What did you son say about it??
