Re: puppy with underbite

not a dentist
Puppy going on 14 weeks with an close underbite- basically a reverse scissor. What are the chances that this bite can change into a proper scissor bite as it grows and gets its adult teeth?

I waited on my gals underbite... she still has it 3 years later. I placed her after 6 months

Re: puppy with underbite

I kept a female pup with an underbite, and it corrected itself.

Re: puppy with underbite

I had one,it wasn't there until she was about 13 weeks, she was seen by a specialist who pulled a few teeth,it didn't correct itself but after careful review with some breeders that had a longer history said to keep her. I bred her once and never had any bite issues show up later. The specialist did not think it was hereditary.

Re: puppy with underbite

I had one that was just like that at 3 months of age. By the time he was 6 months old, it was perfectly normal. Only time will tell.
