Does anyone know if you can submit EIC cheek swab test to U of MN without the need of a vet? Last time the vet charged me $30 per dog just to verify the microchip.
You need another vet.
Yes, you can submit, but you can't have the results published in OFA.
Usually, I have the EIC test done at the same time I take the dog for other stuff and there is no additional charge for any cheek swab test. The vet tech always checks the microchip on routine visits. Then, it is just a matter of the vet verifying the swab with a signature. This way, I have the option of sending it in to OFA. Personally, I do a blood draw for EIC; it's just my preference and there is a small charge for that.
