FORWARDING AND CROSS-POSTING VERY MUCH APPRECIATED:
Cassidy, a 7-year-old Yellow Lab, and Garcia, an 8-year-old Black Lab, have lost their home due to a number of family issues. These precious pooches have been together since they were pups. Rudy's Rescue, a Labrador Retriever Rescue group located in upstate New York, has graciously agreed to take them into their loving care. We know it's Labor Day weekend, but it's EXTREMELY URGENT that we move these dogs this Saturday, August 30th as the family is at great risk of losing their home at the end of the month. Otherwise, there is a risk that they'll be taken to the nearest pound.
As they're use to being outside all day, these best friends tend to get somewhat nervous while traveling (although they DO eventually settle down). They'll be riding with their favorite dog beds, so hopefully that will help keep them calm. We're still verifying with the owner, but we don't think they're use to being crated, so they might need to simply be "tethered in" to make the trip safely. We'll update everyone once we know for certain.
Until then - if you can help us move these dear dogs to their eagerly-awaiting foster family in NY, please contact the Transport Coordinator, Donna Schwender, directly at
