Since a few of you responded to my messages about a retirement ceremony I had scheduled for two weeks from today (April 22nd)...I had best bring you up to date on the "It ain't gunna happen."

The US Navy, in their infinite effiencies, has lost all my retirement paperwork, not once but twice, and therefore cannot process it in a timely enough manner to get the resulting certificates and first check to me any sooner than somewhere between 15 May and 1 June of 2006. I hope, as they never told me what year.

Therefore the scheduled retirement ceremony has been canceled, at least for the foreseeable future. It would be kind of hard, and embarrassing, to try and hold one with no paperwork to back it up.

On that sour note the last swiftee still in the US Navy will quietly join all those that have gone before him and becomes a (ret).

Perhaps the Navy still has plans for you...........

I hope it's not catching I mailed my paper work in March for an 8-06 start for my bennies. Been awaitng for years to reach the big 60. Please keep me posted. I am going to lost sleep over this ....... NOT.

I hope you mailed the package requesting a delivery receipt. That was one of my mistakes. Also, check up on it. Call them and be sure they have everything they need from you and that you filled out the forms correctly.

This whole process needs a lot of supervision by you. Remember it's your check your protecting.
