I'm writing a record of events for the Australian War Memorial. Its about the activities of an Australian surgical team based in Long Xuyen, S.Vietnam 1967-oct.1968. We had contact with River Patrol Boats in Long Xuyen and Can Tho.The boats I'm enquiring about were only about 25 ft long or so..I do have a photo.. My question is were these boats and organisation known as RPBs or Swift boats or Riverine Boats? And were they ever known as or used the call sign of "Swamp Foxes"? I Know the 199th RAC used the Swamp Fox callsign however I've been told the RPB used it also. Is that correct? Names of RPB personel I recall are Bill Staton and Bill Crooks. Hope someone can help. Thanks. Clive Bond. Email:topomountain@hotmail.com
