web site visitors to communicate with current SBSA members regarding any questions about Swift Boat configurations and their operations, association activities, reunions, the newsletter, items in the Ship's Store, locating Swift sailors, or information about joining the association
I'm a budding author of Christian mystery novels, and would like some information on what it was like to serve on a swift boat. It would be best if I could speak with someone to ask questions about a typical mission, duties, and combat.
I promise in no way will what I write be disparaging toward anyone in your service, to any Vietnam vet, or to the military in general. I merely want some information to add "color" to one of my fictional characters: a man who commanded a SB, was permanently disabled in action, received the CMH (without any one in his community knowing of his heroism), and who is key to uncovering a scandal (in which he has no culpable part).
If you could put me in touch with someone in your organization, I'd appreciate it very much. If he lives in the Central PA area (State College and environs), we could even meet for lunch. Please use my email address at dspaugh@juno.com.
Thank you, and May God Bless You.
