if you google "anxiety disorder and school phobia" you find there is a link with separation disorder. some of these links make for very interesting reading. my dd appears to be suffering all these.
It does seem to be a combination. My son was also diagnosed with having separation anxiety - not just from me but in fact from his 'comfort zone' which is home.

My son was originally diagnosed with school phobia but this has been changed to general anxiety disorder - seperation was an issue to start with but as he has got older it's not a problem
