Tuesday 6th Decenber 9pm ITV 1

Has anyone else seen the ad for the programme next Tuesday ? I only caught the tail end of it and its called something like " my child doesn't fit it" i think. Its about children who don't fit in for various reasons such as autism or other reasons as their children don't seen to fit into what is classified as normal. The part of the preview i saw was a group of parents who were at their wits end because they have been blamed for how thier kids are, and some are at the end of their tether.

Not sure if SR is mentioned but think its worth watching.

Re: Tuesday 6th Decenber 9pm ITV 1

Let us (me - not in the UK) know what it was all about when you can. Thanks.
Linda
PS How is your other boy going, Sarah - after the accident at school that time?
Is all well now?

Re: Tuesday 6th Decenber 9pm ITV 1

Hi Linda - yes all fine now thanks. We had to go back and see another consultant yesterday and he has now been discharged so lets hope thats the end of it all !!

Not too sure if this programme will be of any use but it shows the impact on parents who's children don't always fit in, so from that point of view it will be worth watching.

Hope all is well down under

Re: Tuesday 6th Decenber 9pm ITV 1

Hi Sarah,
Just saw the trailer for this. It's called " my child's not perfect" and yes it
seems to cover a lot of conditions from autism to bulimia . Thanks for letting us know about it.

Well interesting watching although not quite sure if it had any relevance with regards to SR but obviously the little mute girl had anxieties around school. What did shock me was the poor family who had gone 8 years before they had a diagnosis of autism - i felt so sorry for the family going from one specialist to another trying to find out what was wrong with their son ( oh i know how she felt ) The psycologist who conducted the tests at the Priory seemed very good and i would certainly be interested in contacting her with regards to M as although he has been diagnosed with general anxiety disorder I still feel as though they are missing something = think it's too easy to label it but i am still not convinced that is all it is. Would be really interested in hearing others views on the programme.
