dentist

lucy went to the Dentist for the very first time in her life on Wednesday - been dreading her getting toothache since she became a "Refuser" over 4 years ago! it went really well - she only had a temporary filling but the Dentist & the nurse were absolutely fantastic with her - decided against telling them about the phobia, depression, panic attacks, etc etc just in case they said they couldn't see her and she'd have to go the hospital dentist. if anything she appears to be getting very "hard" like if a thug annoyed her I don't fancy his chances now she's very get-up-and-have-a-go(perhaps thats what happens after 4 years of being different from everyone else? they harden themselves.

Re: dentist

Well done to your daughter, Maureen.
My son also refused to see a dentist for many many years after an experience that made his anxiety hit an all time high. But we have found a place that deals mostly with children and teenagers and they are wonderful. They also do not know about his fear - and yet they treat him with great warmth and understanding.

Sounds like your daughter is building up that inner resilience! How are you going with the education side of things these days?
All the best
Linda xx
