Study and Support groups

Hi,

I am thinking of moving the family closer to where I work. My youngest son has been refusing school since January and there has been little progress. My eldest son could move to a specialist college close to my workplace. I am thinking of home educating my son, with perhaps some input from the local college who provide courses for electively home educated students (14-16). Yet, my son need friends and support so I was thinking about perhaps setting up a study and support group for home schooled children in the area.

I would be very grateful if anyone could advise me how to do this effectively and what I might expect.

Thanks,

J

Re: Study and Support groups

Janet,

Are you near a Red Balloon establishment?

If not, they may welcome your involvement in getting one set up.

It is some time since I had any involvement with them, but they were looking to expand and offer help for that.

Yours aye,

Simon

Re: Study and Support groups

Hi Simon,

There is not a Red Balloon centre in the area in which I currently live, but there is one in the area we may move to. I used to have some contact with RBintheAIR and I may contact them again.

Thanks,

Janet
