USS Pillsbury DE133 June 4, 1944

To whom it may concern, My father, George Matzner, serial #812.28.01, 1st Class Seaman, served on board the USS Pillsbury DE-133, reported to Task Group 21.12, consisting of USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60) and four destroyer escorts helped, and among others, helped captured the German Submarine U505. My father helped lower the boarding party including 8 men led by Lt. Albert David, in order to obtain secret code books, Enigma machine, maps, etc. My father, who passed on October 15, 2008, was given a Navy ceremonial funeral at Woodlawn Cemetery, located in Gotha, Florida (nearby Orlando, FL). My mother passed 6 weeks later on December 24, 2008. My father received the President Unit Citation, with an honorable medal, signed by the Secretary of Navy, James Forrestal, To this day my family cannot locate this extraordinary achievement. In addition, my father received an Honorable Discharge on October 1, 1945. Would it be possible for anyone who can help me, Donald H. Matzner, obtain a duplicate of the original Presidential Unit Citation. This would be a valuable asset to me, my sons, grandsons and granddaughters, showing that he was a true WWII hero. Thank you.
