If Rizzo wants to make Broadway like Main St in Melrose he might want to start by picking up the trash! He might also want to have his inspectors actually inspect some of these store fronts, starting with the City Hall coffee shop-how long is the City going to allow him to have that window boarded up with plywood? It has been like that for years. I know the inspectors see it they are in there all day long playing the lottery and drinking coffee.
I ran a business in Lynn, of all places a few years back, and their health inspectors would be in our store a once a month, making sure we cleaned the sidewalk and street in front of the store, making sure are windows were cleaned, and even making sure we didn't have too many signs in the window.
I see City trucks and DPW works on Broadway all day long, would it kill them to pull over and pick up some of the trash.
Maybe Mayor Rizzo can get his committee to clean up Broadway like he cleaned up Revere (LMAO) during his campaign run. Why don't you and Johnnie put on your tee shirts and grab a broom and pose for a nice pix.
Finally, Nickey business owners are not going to listen to you when you glad hand them and your inspectors expect something for nothing (movie tickets, coffee, sandwiches, etc.)
