Re: Isn't that the Becuna?

Its the Becuna, she`s in Philly now as a museum boat.

Re: Re: Isn't that the Becuna?

I've visited Becuna several times. The first was a total surprise as we were being guided by in-laws around Philly. We stumbled upon here.

I had the pleasure of serving as a docent aboard Becuna for an afternoon, along with Mike Bachman & Little Ski.

Later Mike tried to play sailor but instead got a tray of drinks spilled on him at the Sheraton.

Re: Re: Re: Isn't that the Becuna?

I have toured the Becuna several times. The last time I had my daughter and 2 of her friends with me. The Penns Landing area of Philly is a nice area to visit. Dewey's flagship the Olympia is moored next to the Becuna. There is also a maritime museum. They have a ferry there that will take you over to the other side of the river to the battleship New Jersey.
The sub school manual was written around the Becuna when I was there. I think I saw the manual online somewhere.
The boat next to the Becuna in the picture is the Sea Owl. The massive bow gives it away.

Re: Re: Re: Isn't that the Becuna?

You remember all the @*&%. I had a lot of help from a waitress that flunked her ballerina lessons.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Isn't that the Becuna?

Might have been "Little Ski's" arm up her skirt. who knows.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Isn't that the Becuna?

I went aboard the Becuna in Philly in 86 or there abouts when I was working for Lockheed and was in King Of Prussia as a QA rep for a reduction gear they were building for a LSD we were building in Seattle.
She was in pretty bad shape as I remember.
Buttons, the Sub School Manual is still on line. I have the link in you want it.
