SS-407 Association DUES

ARGHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhh.

I hate to think about it, hate it even more to ask for them. I procrastinate severely.

Anyway, I'm toying with the idea of setting up a PayPal account(premier or merchant, not sure yet)as an ALTERNATE means of collect Association dues. I've done some research and a lot of member based groups like ours, clubs, HOA's seem to be using it.

Members would be able to go to our Association web page and click on an icon(s)to make their dues payments using a major credit cards or an existing PayPal account transfer. I don't think there is any fees to the member, but there will be one for the Association.

I'd like to open a discussion here to see what shipmates think...have at it!!!.

Re: SS-407 Association DUES

Paul,

Whats the cost? Has it been a problem in the past?

Re: SS-407 Association DUES

I'm looking for an easier way to get the dues collected.

In the past, I prepared letters, printed and mailed them out. Then the member would have to mail their $$ to Ed.

I figured it might be more convenient for most guys, just to click a link and charge it to their credit card.

Re: SS-407 Association DUES

As usual your motive is honorable and well planned. Even I used PayPal before and it s so easy a Torpedoman can do it....

I think for now and the immediate future, I'll continue to do it the old way and not scare anyone.

I sent out about 93 emails yesterday, receive 11 replies so far. If you didn't get my email, I'm showing you "ALL PAID TO DATE."

If you're coming to Charleston Ed will be glad to take any dues $$ at that time so save the postage cost.
