Item to consider: The Cobia ship keepers that will be on hand for the engine start, help to set up the tolling of the bells and tour of the Cobia are all volunteers. Recommend that they be invited to our banquet. Would only be a small additional charge when split up between 40 people.

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

Sounds good so far.

I thought about stopping in Manitowoc on our way back from Cleveland. It is a long way off right now but we will see
how many are interested come late spring. It seems the closer the event gets, the more sign up. I am pretty sure we
will get some from the mid west that are close by early on. The ones from the coasts will wait.

We will plan on attending for now, health permitting.

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

Paul;

Two potential issues:

(1). I’ve already missed the response date of January 15, 2016.
(2). I’m going to startback to School Bus driving and School will be in session at the time.

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

1.) THANKS for catching that. Confirms I need to proofread EVERYTHING at thrice.
2.) Sorry to hear that you may not make it, but will keep you informed of any changes they make.

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

I put up a WEB PAGE with the pertinent information for the PROPOSED REUNION

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

Paul;

I certainly don’t want tothrough “Cold Water” on any early “Rah Rah’s” but isn’t each instance of cost here a little steep? I may be out of touch with inflation these day’s but the overall cost sounds like it could be a blocking point for Patsy and I. Is there any room any whare for negotiation?

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

I'm not too sure that those figures are that out of line. I think there is some transportation costs in there also. Our two bus trips in Cleveland cost us $500/ea. for 40 people. Some outfits wanted $750-$900 for a 10 mile round trip.

In Cleveland we collected $75/ea for reg + another $70/ea to cover the cost of the trips to USS COD and the boat cruise.

Even then we had a shortfall of about roughly $40/ea which had to be made up from our treasury.

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

Digested with a teaspoon of sugar to help get it down. I’m out of touch with the “Cost of Travel” these day’s. I intend to try to find a way to be present...I probably could miss a ‘couple driving day’s. Patsy and I do so enjoy these event’s.
Driving might just be a painful but viable travel alternative....

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

It would NOT BE THE SAME without you two. I believe that.

Scan the list of departed SHIPMATES at the top of this BBS page and you get an idea how many are lost just recently, never to meet again. Every year that list is about that long...20-25 SHIPMATES on ETERNAL PATROL.

I plan on making the trip by car, maybe including a ferry ride across Lake Michigan. I'm receiving a decent amount of positive replies, including a first-timer that served on the decoom crew.

Re: COMBINED 3 -SEAS REUNION.

Patsy and I will do our level best to be there. After all, you need me to copy a broadcast should it occur.....
