Re: Mortician Concert dates and experiences

I saw Mortician back in November of 2000 when they played Smiler Coogans in Chicago. They were headlining with Malignancy, Goat*****, and Bludgeon. Great show, Roger was a monster. First blasting through a malignancy set on drums then the Mortician set. Talked to Will briefly and bought a tour edition CD. Can't wait to catch them again.

They did play the show to a small crowd. It was funny because the
small room was cold and the radio must have been connected to the
amp, you could hear some funny jazz or salsa in between band songs
for the opening act who kept making fun of it. Eventually it got
lowered or fixed. I don't know for sure.
A couple of the opening bands were good, can't remember which ones
though. It was like a mini Mortician party, we had fun, some NYDM
troops were there having too much fun.
When Mortician played they did one intro sample and the lights were
turned off, all they had on was the dim light from the bar and the
redlight that was focused on the band on the stage.
Sam kicked ass on drums Thanx to everyone who came out!
They played a great set. More peeps should have come out though! Will
and Roger had a lot of merchandise together.
And Mortician has a new album live CD out on their own label
Mortician Records called Zombie Massacre Live! with 37 live tracks
and some kewl pictures and great cover
Get these at the Mortician shows.

Primitive Recordings also has some great releases out now
Severed Head (MD, USA), Stumpgrinder (PA, USA) / Prosthetic ****
Split CD, Black Mass (MD,USA), Head Trauma (NY, USA X-Mortician
member Desmond Tolhurst's project!), Leukorrhea (MA,USA), Hybrid
Xenomorph Predator (BG), Cystic Fibrosis (Danny & Roger from
Malignancy & Mortician US), Sergent Slaughter (FR), Primitive
Brutality (US), Bile (NL) and the release of the legendary Decomposed
Demos on CD (NY, USA)

The Ohio show was cancelled, Mortician was upset cos they didn't even
know that the promoter of that show had bailed out and the club
didn't even know Mortician was playing that show. So sorry to all the
Ohio fans, they'll try again in Jan.

Oh and a few words from Roger:
"I am ******* *******

Hey everyone! First off, the good news is that there's more
embroidered hats for our bands available and a ton of new titles
going in the store tonight. Now the bad news. Because of a few
******* complete dirt scumbags who feel the need to rip off labels
with fraudulent credit cards, we are forced to change our policies
concerning out of country orders. You can read all about the changes
at the Primitive Brutality site. As for the handfull of ****ers out
there that managed to get your merchandise with a stolen card, you
better ******* run when Mortician plays your country because I will
hunt you down and eat your ******* brains. I will also be offering a
reward for the locations of certain individuals that I'm interested
in speaking to. I will post names here shortly. Anyone who can bring
these individuals to any of our shows on the upcoming tours will not
only have a visual treat but be compensated fairly. Sorry to rant but
I'm ******* It really botthers me and is a discredit to the metal
scene when metal brothers try to rip off other metal brothers. I hope
they die of testicular cancer or better yet get to meet me in person.
For all you honest metalheads out there STAY BRUTAL and stay tuned
for more band signings and more merchandise."

Re: Mortician Concert dates and experiences

Albany, NY on our way to Valentine's, when we found it, the venue was located upstairs, it had cool blue and black flames painted on the wall and the size was decent enough to hold a few peeps.
The bands playing aside from Mortician were:
Wasteform, Fullblown Chaos, Through the Discipline all from NY
It was a true NYDM show so to speak.
And all the bands were so intense that night, the crowd was truly hyped up. The band members were joking around ealier as they set up their t-shirts and cds on the tables. everyone there including the bartender were very kewl people.
It seems that all these bands were holding back their energy until the show began because from beginning to end it was just such pure ****in chaos. It was great to watch. The people there were kewl, checking out all the merch we brought and just talking a bit. Mortician really blends in with a lot of the NYHC/NYDM scene. The crowd had a mix of hc/death metal peeps that didn't seem to mind the mix. Unlike a lot of people who complain about it.
Through the Dicipline where the first band to start off the madness, this band from the both Queens and Long Island, New York where representin' These guys were diverse, the guitar riffs where sometimes melodic without taking away the strengh of their hardcore and death metal musical style. And they finished off with a Slayer cover....NICE http://www.throughthediscipline.com

Full Blown Chaos from Queens, NY played a mix of NYHC with brutal brake downs and death metal growled vocals. They had excellent mosh beats. I believe they have a released called "Prophet of Hostility."

Mortician was so excited after these two bands that they really got into it when they played. I had not seen Mortician so **** hyper! hahaha I think it's the most I've seen Will headbang and at the MD show too. The were able to get most of the intros on their set and get the crowd going wild, while a few were standing there mesmerized by the insanity. Will keeps dedicating songs to mamacita and people are all confused haha. I was behind the merch table headbanging, playing airdrums, practically moshing. I wont give a way what songs they played cos some of you are still going to see them but this set was ****in extreme and they sounded really good!

Wasteform were kicking ass and very much supported in their own hometown (Albany). They got great response as well. They consider themselves Metalcore...and they also had a brutal set. Will was over there watching the band and taking pictures
Check out their website, looks rather bloody
http://www.wasteform.com/bio.html
The SideBarin Baltimore, MD.

This was another intense show Mortician played a long with Dwelling Madness, Severed Head, Beyond Fatal, Eternal Ruin. All the bands on this one were killer too and the crowd was really into it. Another intense night for Mortician as well, I was kinda surprised at their extreme energy on stage and very happy with their set, although it was a bit rushed due to the curfew in MD that says they close at 1am or so.
The people were nice there too, Zak did a great job booking this event and he was really kewl.
It was a small place. I was just happy that I knew some peeps such as Flo and Amanda and got to meet Laura...all the MDDM gals
OK peeps don't be shy, please post and also add who you'd like to see Mortician play with and where

Re: Mortician Concert dates and experiences

I wish I could say I've seen Mortician but sadly I haven't had the chance yet. That's the one main thing I hate about living in Canada is that U.S. bands rarely come this way (Vancouver, BC to be more specific)unless it's Toronto or Quebec and I'm not really up for traveling to the complete opposite side of Canada. I'm hoping they'll come to at least Seattle soon and I'll definately be there. There's no band that I want to see more live.
