More on CA MSN A.B. 1634

Permission to cross post is granted

A website has been put together to assist in the fight against AB 1634 --
the all breed mandatory spay/neuter bill that was recently introduced in
the California state legislature.

Please take a moment to read the information on the website. If you are a
California resident, please contact your Assembly Member & State Senator to
voice your opposition to this bill. It only takes a minute to make the
telephone calls.

This bill has a lot of powerful supporters, including the California
Veterinary Medical Association, many shelter/rescue groups, and the
multi-million dollar influence of PETA, HSUS, and other radical AR
organizations. Media coverage to date has been unbalanced, with those of us
opposed to mandatory spay/neuter being portrayed as whiners.

Don't believe for a minute that this bill cannot pass. It WILL pass if the
dog owners in California do not unite and fight it. If it passes in
California, it will be coming to your state within a few years. I don't
care how red your state is, you'll be forced to fight this too if it isn't
stopped. Mandatory spay/neuter was recently defeated in New Mexico, through
the hard work of dog owners there. Dog owners have got to keep fighting to
stop mandatory spay/neuter, every time it rears its ugly head. If it passes
in any state, it will gain momentum and be that much harder to stop.

Please do not be fooled into complacency by the apparent exemptions in the
bill for AKC, UKC, and ADBA registered dogs, along with a small subset of
working dogs. That is exactly what PETA & HSUS hope you will do, to diffuse
opposition. Those exemptions will be gone within 10 years if this bill
passes. As long as their divide and conquer strategy is working, PETA and
HSUS will not stop until there are no exceptions to mandatory spay/neuter.

Thanks for your help!

"One generation and out. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic
animals. They are creations of human selective breeding." Wayne Pacelle,
Senior VP of Humane Society of the US, Animal People

"The cat, like the dog, must disappear... We should cut the domestic cat
free from our dominance by neutering, neutering, and more neutering, until
our pathetic version of the cat ceases to exist." John Bryant, PETA

"As John Bryant has written in his book Fettered Kingdoms, they [pets] are
like slaves, even if well-kept slaves." PETA's Statement on Companion Animals.

"Let us allow the dog to disappear from our brick and concrete
jungles--from our firesides, from the leather nooses and chains by which we
enslave it." John Bryant, PETA
