Treating for Intestinal Bacteria

Is there any med out there that can treat both Coccidia and Giardia. I understand that Albon is for Coccidia and that Flagl is for Giardia and if both are a strain of bacteria, isn't there a treatment that one could keep handy to treat both types ?

What about a naturopathic substance that gets rid of these 2 types of bacteria in a dog's intestinal tract ?

Re: Treating for Intestinal Bacteria

Neither Giardia or Coccidia are bacteria. They are both 1 celled parasites. There is no drug that will treat both.

Re: Treating for Intestinal Bacteria

Here is a natural remedy for both parasites that is also a natural antibiotic:

You can also use Fenbendazole for Giardia. Instaed of 3 days as you would do for worming you do 5 days.

Re: Treating for Intestinal Bacteria

A wonderful poster on this forum told me to treat for Giardia this way - 7 days on, 5 days off and 5 days on...and it worked!

Then I used Forti Flora by Purina to put back all of the good bacteria...acidophilus does NOT contain enterococcus faecum which dogs have to have in order to digest their food.

Hope this helps!
