Rally question

I am entered in Rally this weekend and want to know if there is a rule about correct collars. Is a chain choke permitted and or a cloth buckle collar?

thanks in advance

Re: Rally question

Either choke or flat buckle is permitted. The same as in regular OB.

Re: Re: Rally question

thanks for the info, this is my first time in obediance or rally
appreciate the info

Re: Re: Re: Rally question

Hi!

Just make sure you have NO TAGS on your collar.
An automatic disqualification for tags.
Good Luck.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Rally question

Thank you Donna. was practiceing last night with Java last night and discovered her and choke collars don't go well.
I trained her on a flat buckle cloth collar, onlu chain choke she has ever had on was fine show chain choke and we use that for conformation. think she might of been a little confuzed so glad I can use the flat collar

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Rally question

Make sure your leash is long enough, to make the turns. I have a Labrador and use a 4ft leash in Rally, but in Obedience trials I use a 2.5ft(no funny turns in OB)
Good Luck!!!

Re: Rally question

any obedience collar is fine, buckle, or chain
use a longer leash, 4 -6ft (when the new rules go in it will 6ft for honor), no tags, and remember the rules of rally

Breathe
dog on the left
signs on the right
count
breathe

Re: Re: Rally question

thanks for the advise everyone. bought a flat buckle collar and matching lead that is at least 4ft possible longer. java was trained with a buckle collar so I think she will do well.
If all goes wellwe will have our first leg of rally this Saturday.

Barb,
Love the suggestions, most especially, "...breathe!"
