Potomac XXII is one for history.
And time for a new poem.
It certainly was an amazing event
For man, man’s best friend, and gnome.
The show tent rose majestically
Upon the hill so tall.
Banners flapping in the wind
Overlooking FSK mall.
Frederick opened her welcoming arms
Offering well wishes, proclamations and more.
Mother Nature did the best she could
Before the skies began to pour.
Four days filled with all things Lab
To occupy our time.
Our senses were in overload.
Each event was most sublime.
Day one held the seminar
With speakers from abroad.
Our gnome-ears took in every word
And in gratitude we did applaud.
Then from the North came in the wind,
Damp, blustery and chill!!
Why, it wouldn’t be Potomac
Unless you froze up on that hill!
Despite it all, the Labs showed well.
About the weather, they had no care.
While our poor little gnomish noses
Dripped and reddened in frigid air.
As some labs triumphed
And some they were defeated.
Dashing through increasing mud
Our supply of socks depleted.
Juniors showed so wonderfully.
Dancing dogs put on a show.
Veterans pranced around the ring
Basking in their glow.
The Ball Room was tres elegant!
But crowded to the rafter.
With many high “spirited” folks, (wink, wink)
Eager for the auction which came after.
The raffle table was loaded
With items to thrill, dazzle and amaze.
To inventory all that loot
Must have taken days!
Judging continued through the weather.
Each day brought renewed cheer.
And hopes of fame and glory
For every Labrador we held dear.
To celebrate another show,
Came the Renegades and Little Red.
While dancing to their music
The weary folks were fed.
Throughout it all
We gnomes lurked undetected.
Our wily deeds abounded,
Our identities protected.
This show is so astounding
Each year exceeds the rational!
The Potomac has indeed become
The Breeders’ Inter- National!
And so we close this humble rhyme
With a plea for you at home.
When you return again next year
Will you find our Daddy Gnome?

Does anyone know who bid on and won the beautiful Gnome Chronicle and accessories? What an adorable tribute !
Did ya'll see the Gnome stickers all around the Host Hotel and grounds? That was a cutie too 
We had some fun!
Hope you did too.
Our toes are thawing...
No longer blue!
We ran out of socks!
Our feet got so raw.
Slogging through mud
Hoping they'd thaw.
Next year will be warmer.
It's in the cards.
Or we'll all have to
be wearing heated leotards.
