Diamond Dog food on recall

Has anyone heard this my mom just called to tell me that the Denver post Did an article on 5 foods being recalled and Diamond was among them.

Re: Diamond Dog food on recall

I did a search at the Denver Post and didn't find anything. The FDA recall list was updated yesterday and no Diamond is on it.

any additional info appreciated.....bumma

Re: Diamond Dog food on recall

Diamond does not use gutens in their food that I know of. You can always call them. They manufactured the dry dog & cat foods recalled by Natural Balance.

Beyond the dog food companies what are these other companies who are importing this stuff doing for safety measures?? We want to blame the dog food companies sure, but don't these things need to go through some sort of testing before they even make it up for sale??
Or before they even leave their contry??

Re: Diamond Dog food on recall

I too heard there were 5 more dog foods recalled but that the names have not been released.

If your mom has that info would you please post it for all too see.

I don't see it on the link posted.

Thanks

Re: Diamond Dog food on recall

Wow!!! So the whole thing is about money?!
Report says that if the wheat gluten and rice protein were "spiked" with melamine, it would make it look as though it had a higher protein value and would be worth more money...
Disgraceful!

Locations of the pet food plants...

I did find this....

Re: Diamond Dog food on recall

Personally I think this new product "rice protein concentrate" in itself raises the protein percentage so they can cut back on the meat protein.

Has anyone seen rice protein concentrate listed in dog foods before this?

Re: Diamond Dog food on recall

no i haven't heard of the rice protein,. and i will let ya know if i hear about the 5 other brands of food.
