breeding a young stud successfully

We have a 3 year old bitch that we are hoping to breed on this heat cycle. We have purchased a young 2 year old stud who has never bred. Both of the dogs have passed all of their clearances ect, but we really want this to be a successful breeding. Is there anything we can do to help out since they are both newbies? Our bitch is flagging and he is very interested. He will mount, but so far has yet to penetrate successfully.

Re: breeding a young stud successfully

HI, I WOULD RECOMMEND LETTING HIM KEEP TRYING, AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS AND TAKE HER FOR PROGESRTONE TESTING AND HAVE HIM COLLECTED AND HER AI' D. YOUNG DOGS SOMETIMES JUST DON'T SEEM TO GET THE JOB DONE, IT'S A LEARNING PROCESS FOR THEM. GOOD LUCK!

Re: Re: breeding a young stud successfully

Thanks! I keep letting him try. He gets so close. Now he has penetration, but pulls out before completing the job and sprays everywhere.....hopefully he will figure it out!

Re: Re: Re: breeding a young stud successfully

Are you helping him?

Once he penetrates you might need to help him stay there by holding him. It helps if one person manages his equipment and another holds the bitch still.
