I have a male 19 months. He shows no interst in any female in heat.To the point where he wants to breed.
He does lick, Never gets horny enough to mount.
The one bitch just stands there and doesn't initate it.other then basically sitting on his face. !!!

The other bitch gets excited but she isn't ready shes in but will not be bred to him. hoping he would at least try to mount her. The 12 mo puppy. she is goofy anyway. mounts him and plays etc..We took him in to Collect. The vet said there is just no extention And if there is doesn't last long.What sperm he has is healthy. He doesn't ejaculate much. I realize this is new to him. But I never have seen him even try to mount a bitch even the wrong way.

Yes he has all his clearances.Plims. Should we do some blood work on him.? He is just visitng my local vet. oh he is fed well with some vitms

haha that's what every one at the vet clinic said. he needs some dogge viagra. At this point i don't think it would help. Think most human men that take that. are interested just can't get it up.!!!! sorry guys???
My dog is just totally not into it all. So he is going in for blood work on Tues.

How are his thyroid function levels? I would check that.

He is going in on Tuesday for full blood panel and to check his iron level to. Hear that can be a problem with this phase he is going through.

Do you have other, dominant males? If so, he may be afraid of getting reprimanded by a dominant male, messing with the status quo, or he may have tried his first hump as a baby and gotten his butt kicked for it.

Have you turned your back on him with a female you DON'T want bred????? Bet he'll do it then

Have you tried to collect him and have a semen analysis done? If nothing shows in his blood work how about calling Dr. Hutchinson?

You might have your Vet run a urinalysis, urine culture and check his prostate. Just a thought...

Some dogs have low libido just like some people!! I would take him to a repro specialist before spending all your money on useless tests at a local vet. A repro vet can do the right tests--not just routine stuff. Perhaps he just needs some encouragement a few times with a bitch that is prime--this is where a good repro vet can help. Getting him used to being collected in one place may help too. Maybe the bitches have yelled at him a few too many times!
