CKC Shows ... points

I have a question about CKC Conformation shows and points. What does the dog need to win to obtain points towards their championship? Also, how do you figure out how many points they are going to receive if they win?

TIA!

Re: CKC Shows ... points

Same as AKC shows. You need to win WD/WB or better.

The point schedule is in the front of every catalogue. The difference here is that we add the dogs and bitches together for BOW points.

For instance 3 dogs = 2 points, 7 females = 3 points
Best of Winners gets to add them together to equal 10 dogs so instead of the points they originally won they get 4 points.

Hope that helps.

Someone is usually there to answer your questions for you.

Re: Re: CKC Shows ... points

You also need three judges and a required 'major'. Now don't you all laugh south of border as the CKC requirements for their CH is the 10pts and must include a 'major'. That is a two point win.See the point scale above for numbers needed. This was set up to ensure that people just didn't enter two dogs, perhaps be the only two there and just played at beating each other with their own dog until you hit 10pts. Lab entries are 'fairly decent'. Southern ON will often give you a 4 or 5pt BW if the entries come for the right judges. Technically, you could finish a dog in three straight shows.
