It's that time of year again and the mushrooms are starting to appear in my yard. Poop patrol now becomes poop and mushroom patrol!

I seem to remember someone advising to add lime to the lawn to prevent mushrooms. Is this correct? Is this safe to do with a pregnant bitch using the yard?

Yes it can help. You need to apply a generous amount.
Fertilizers that are high in nitrogen and low in carbon work really well too.

One more question: is this something I should do every year?
