puppy eye color???

Could anyone tell me at what age in a puppy will you see their true eye color? I have a litter of 7 week old puppies and their eyes still seem so light....bluish a bit. Thanks for any information you have to offer.

Re: puppy eye color???

Usually by 4-5 months old their true eye color comes out, eyes stay bluish for quite a while so not to worry.

Re: puppy eye color???

Give the puppers some more time to show their true eye color. I have seen eyes within the same litter differ; some darker at 8 weeks and some lighter that darken a lot by 12 to 16 weeks. Full eye color should be consistent by 6 months of age. What color are your puppies and how did their eye pigmentation progress? Do the parents have good eye color? If both do; the puppies would follow in their footsteps hopefully.

Sometimes you can tell when they start to turn from blue to sort of grey, that some will be a lighter grey than others. I think we have examined pups at nine or ten weeks that you could see the change to the grey tones.
