Can I just sign my boy up for the WC at Pawcatuck? (sp?)...is there special training that he should have first? He is a retrieving manic and delivers to hand. What is needed to get a WC?

it sounds like your dog should have no problems with a WC. Here is a website I found that details the requirements. http://www.thelabradorclub.com/certificates/wc/wcguidelines.html

A WC is designed to test retrieving instinct. A land retrieve of a minimum of 50 yards and two water retrieves are required. A dog does not have to deliver to hand nor have good line manners. The dog must return the ducks within a large circle/line.
It's a good way to see just how much potential your Lab may have. Plus, it's fun!
