OT - Photo editing for computer

I want to purchase a photo editing program for my computer. What should I buy?

Any computer whiz people know?

TIA

Thanks to Diane for Helping Host Child

Just wanted to personally thank Diane from Muddy Marsh Labradors for helping Dorothee and her daughter Luisa find a great host family in Colorado near Diane herself. Lucky for Luisa , Diane will be her Rep through the exchange program and Luisa will get a chance to spend time with the Muddy Marsh Labbies! Thank you Diane for taking the chance to reach out to Dorothee and I am excited for all that this worked out for everyone!

Re: OT - Photo editing for computer

What do you want to do with this program? I know a lot of people use Photoshop Elements, but there is a lot of functionality that the full Photoshop version has that you don't get with Elements. Are you taking point-and-shoot pictures or do you use a higher end camera. It makes a difference. Also, it depends on what software came with your camera. If you're using Canon, maybe I can help. If it's Nikon, I'm so sorry - just kidding! Seriously if it's Nikon someone else on the forum may be able to help. Those are the main two systems out there. Sony or Olympus are also okay, but I know next to nothing about them.

I'm happy for Dorothee and Luisa that it worked out. Hope "Grim Reaper" reads this to find out and these are real people with real lives and not everyone is out to "get you"!

Hi Greg:

Thank you. I think it is the elements that I need. My camera is higher end Panasonic but I am not familiar with the extras yet.
