My vet was just telling me that in order for him to send in x-rays for OFA's the dog now has to have some type of permanent ID. Has anyone else heard this? Just curious, as all of mine are chipped anyway. I will ask OFA, also.

maybe it has changed.... but they used to accept applications from dogs without permanent id but they would add "NO PI" after the dog's OFA #

Now they just need to strongly encourage the Vets to check the i.d. themselves rather than rely on the owners to just tell them what the i.d. number is.
The AVMA and AAHA should jump in on that as well.
