mini tube

Can someone explain to me and probably lots of us. What is Mini Tube?
How does it work?
Thanks. Just trying to educate myself.

Re: mini tube

Mini Tube is a company that makes semen extender 5 or 10 days. They also sell shipping coolers etc.

Just talked to them today actually.

If you email them, they will be more then willing to answer any question you may have.

Re: mini tube

I am loving this extender! I used the 10 day, kept a drop back in the fridge, and 11 days later, it was still kickin'. Not bad!

Re: mini tube

I just ordered the mini tube extender for a breeding that I'm doing next week. The stud owner recommended it and when I asked my repro specialist about it she said that she prefers it now.

Re: mini tube

it Super especially for International shipments. The veterinarians on the receiving end are commenting on the marvelous quality when they check it. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!! The fact that it is never frozen is marvelous. We can easily take it on the road with us if necessary.

Re: Re: mini tube

What is the shelf life on it?

Re: Re: Re: mini tube

One year self life.

Re: Re: Re: Re: mini tube

Sorry. On the main page it says one year self life, but on the PDF file it reads...Over 1 year shelf life stored at 5°C.

Re: mini tube

Thats shelf life NOT self life..:)

Re: mini tube

I've also heard of people who use Mini Tube who split the first collection and send the other half for the second shipment. You should get a higher sperm count on the first collection (as compared to the second collection) so this second shipment would be of higher quality than if collected the traditional way.

Re: Re: mini tube

Anyone know what the cost of the minitube kits are? With this new one I would think you could use that instead of frozen which is great for us here in Hawaii!

Jackie

Re: Re: Re: mini tube

You can email Minitube and request that an info packet with pricing be sent to you through the mail. They are wonderful and provide great customer service.

Re: mini tube

no need to split a collection and that could have been done with any extender, not just Minitube.

Since it lasts for 5 days, if you collect the dog and extend the semen, THEN extend the dog the very NEXT day and extend it, you can send BOTH collections in one box. No need for two kits, or two shipping costs. Even if it should get lost and take two days to arrive, it would still be good. Bitch owners should request the semen a day or two before they actually think they need to breed the bitch. Then both breedings are there waiting for you as you need them.

Re: mini tube

should be THEN collect the dog.

Re: Re: Re: Re: mini tube

I did email them but seems they take a while to answer so that is why I asked here as someone that has used them should know NOW.

Re: Re: Re: mini tube

Jackie I think I paid $54.00 for the kit and $25 for the chill 10 then there is a fee for the overnight shipping for the chill 10 as it needs to be kept cool. The total for my last kits was around $104.18 shipped to the stud dog owner.

Hope this helps, Diane

Re: Re: Re: Re: mini tube

Thank you so much Dianne! They have still not gotten back to me and i've been running around back and forth to the vet doing progestrone tests on one of my girls so no time to call them during their business hours. Mahalo Nui Loa!

They've gotten back to me within a day, multiple times. You might try emailing them again once you have time. Maybe they had some technical difficulties which affected your original email.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: mini tube

why can't you just tell us the price? Is it a secret?????

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: mini tube

Good grief. I just love the sarcasm.

I'd have been more than happy to share any information that I have on Minitube, had I been home to do so. The envelope is a little large to carry around in my purse.

Re: mini tube

Here's the email re: pricing I received, hope it helps. Also the customer service peeps were more then helpful and quick to reply.

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for your inquiry! The Transport Box is $22.50, the Chill 10 and Canipro AI are both $25.00 each for a 20ml bottle. If you're not aware of it, the Chill 10 requires the use of egg yolk. You can download the instructions from the website. If you are not comfortable using egg yolk and are shipping within the Continental U.S., the Chill 5 works very well and does not require the use of egg yolk.

I can ship whatever you want directly to the stud owner and anything you would like for yourself directly to you. They would be 2 seperate orders, charged and shipped seperately. The Extenders are required to be shipped either Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air, depending on where they are being shipped because they need to be maintained at about 41 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have any other questions or when you are ready to order, you may call me at the toll-free number below and I would be happy to help you. I am here Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 4:30pm.
