When do you switch from 3 tmes a day to 2 times a day? 4 months is my guess.

Right now- we have adjusted morning and night feeding and reduced mid-day feeding because she wasn't eating all at night. Right now- she looks great at her weight, and is growing 'evenly'. If she was looking fat, i'd reduce all 3 meals, but it's more along the lines of -she's hungry in morning, and hungry at night with the reduced mid-day feeding. with it full 3 meals- last meal wasn't finished.

with each dog i've had over time- as puppies, they have all done well with their own 'schedule'. by 4 months of age- they have all been content with 2 meals/day.
BUT- this is just what has worked for us.

I let the puppy tell me. Typically, they begin to not be so excited about the mid-day meal, or they eat it but pick at thier supper. When this happens, I know they're ready to go to two times a day.

At 6 months. I wean them down from noon meal by slowly decreasing the amount and adding it to the a.m. and p.m. meal.
