Does anyone know what OFA consultation is and what it's used for?

OFA stands for Orthapedic Foundation for Animals and it is the system most of us use to evaluate the hip and elbow conformation on our dogs.

It requires a vet to take special x rays and mail them to OFA.

That's not what I asked, I know that. There is a space on the OFA form that says "Consultation". I want to know what that is.

Why not email OFA and ask them and then let us all know what it is as I have no idea either and i've been OFA'ing dogs for 27 years.

I may not have learned what OFA "Consultation" is, but I've learned two things about you:
1) You can't read
2) You need an anger management consultation
Smile! Life is good!

This means you do not want them rated, you just want their opinion on what they see. Sort of like sending an x-ray to an ortho specialist in your area. They look, and give you an impression/diagnostic, but NOT a grading.

Is there PMS on every posting today? What is the deal with how nasty some of you are? Why would you call someone a jerk on a public list?

This is disheartening at the least. If you don't have something nice to say please keep it to yourself.
