Re: Is garlic toxic?

If it is toxic to dogs all of mine should be dead because they get about 1,500mg a day with the pills I give them.

Thanks

Re: Re: Re: Is garlic toxic?

It is toxic to ME...I get migraine headaches, nausea, etc. Really nasty. Can't even stand to smell it because of what it does to me : ) Sure don't want to smell it on the dog's breath!!

Re: Is garlic toxic?

I believe I read somewhere that you should not give more than one clove for every 20 pounds.....otherwise it can be toxic.

Re: Is garlic toxic?

I have heard it can be toxic to dogs but has to be in very hi dosages.

Garlic
Much like onions, Garlic contains thiosulphate, the dangerous toxin that poisons dogs. However garlic is also good for dogs in small amounts as it acts as a natural flea repellant. Use garlic in tiny portions and in strict moderation.
