I live in the New England area. I give "Interceptor" all year around. Any of you stop to give their heartworm during the winter?

I live in southern Wisconsin. I stop giving it during the winter months. Do a heartworm check every spring and start up again.

I give it all year round. Warmer winters in NJ I am seeing mosquitos in Nov. and Dec. so I don't risk it.

I test every other year.

We do May through October.

I used to test in April, then have them on interceptor until after the first hard frost (around november). However, since I have a history of whipworms, I now keep them on it year-round.

I did test everyone this spring just to make sure all is well.

I live in Rhode Island and have been giving Heartguard year round for over 20 years. I have seen mosquitos through out the winter....they're moving slowly but they are out there. It's alot cheaper to prevent heartworm than it is to treat it.

Thank you, I will keep giving it all year around. Was always wondering about giving them a brake from the chemicals.
