Has anyone used Calcium Gluconate to help your girls along in whelping? If so, how much do you use? I have used it many years ago with the help of WhelpWise but just don't remember, and I am not using WhelpWise this time.

If you supplement calcium before, during whelping you are setting the bitch up for eclampsia. This happens because the body does not produce the calcium if it is being supplemented, and then when the huge need for milk arises, it just robs the body of all calcium. That's when the seizure, heart problems, etc begin. Bitches do die from this, so please be careful
