Yes, I've seen the web page and write-up about this dog before. I believe he was born to a European breeder. If I remember correctly, he's a 'mosaic' -- Google it in genetic context for more info.
Most of the time,I have found in the yellows and blacks that the whites on the toes, tip of tails shed out with the puppy coat. The same is for the salt and pepper effect. I have had black puppies with under coats of black brown and You would swear it was chocolate. Until you realized the pigment did not match that of a choc dog, hehe! white spots under the pad of the dog is called a bolo spot and it goes back to a famous dog named bolo. So dont thow a pup out right away they are usually you pick pup.
Splashes will show up in blacks, markings can go as deep as the colors of a Doby, with black and gold markings, yellow with white marks on the upper arm or on sides of their bodies, You just dont see them as you would the markings on black. Of course it is black then you will see. The stripe going down the middle of chest is a defined mismark and breeding the dog will pass it on and it will make it bigger sometimes to pup it pass it onto. It is exceptable, It should resemble the marking of the pepsi logo. Then their are the pencil point mark usally on the head black on yellow, white on black and choc too.
It looks like it has a scar from getting in to puppy fights in the box, I scrub really hard one time on a yellow to get the dirt off! hope that was some help.
