BISS?

How exactly does a dog get this title. If they are BOB at a Speciality--then what?

Re: BISS?

BISS= Best in Show Special

Re: BISS?

Then what is Best In Specialty Show?

Re: BISS?

Westminster, Eukanuba etc all have the "best of the best" shows. When I first started took me a while to get this stuff too, don't feel bad.

Re: BISS?

BISS= Best in Show Special
or
BISS= Best In Specialty Show

Meaning, Best of Breed at a specialty show.

Re: BISS?

It isn't e "real" title - it's one we bestow on our dogs to indicate their accomplishments. It doesn't come from AKC at all. I've also seen MBISS which I assume means "multiple best in specialty show" wins, though I don't see that used very often.

Re: BISS?

Also BOSS... Best of Op at a Specialty Show.

I don't think BISS means Best in Show special. It might be a class dog or bitch that wins, as we have seen lately!

Re: BISS?

BISS = Best In Specialty Show
BIS = Best In Show

Re: Re: BISS?

I think this is incorrect. It means Best In Specialty Show. Best In Show Special may not be correct, as the dog may not be a special yet. An unfinished dog can and does win BOB at specialties.

Re: Re: BISS?

It means Best in Specialty Show. And MBISS means multi-Best in Specialty . I have one, MBISS Ch. Shalane Cora Belle.

Re: BISS?

It is not a title, just how some people list their dog's accomplishments in print. If a dog has gone Best In Show, or Best in Specialty Show, etc. some people want to draw attention to those wins by adding the corresponding letters to the listed name as if they were titles. I suppose you could even stretch that to BISBBE to mean that a dog won the group and BIS in a Bred By Exhibitor competition, which has become popular at some show. It isn't a title, it is just a brag

Re: BISS?

I've seen it used as Best in Specialty Sweeps too.
