I was informed that the Detroit Newspaper listed the obituary of AKC judge Dr. Bernard Ziessow, husband of Madge - breeding Labradors under the Franklin prefix. Viewing is Monday 11/12 at he McCabe Funeral Home in Farmington Hills, MI and the funeral is Tuesday.

Rest in peace Bernie!

Though controversial at times, he gave a tremendous amount of his life to this breed. The Franklin prefix has always stood for quality!

While I didn't agree with him regarding the standard...I never have questioned his devotion to our breed! My condolences to Madge & their family!

Very sad to hear of his passing. Yes, he was controversial at times, but he did have a sincere devotion to the breed.
