Rescue Transport Help Request

FORWARDING AND CROSS-POSTING APPRECIATED

Dillion, a purebred Chocolate Labrador Retriever that's described as a "real sweetheart" and that's been at the shelter since November, 2007, needs to be moved from the Bedford County Humane Society in Pennsylvania to Rudy's Rescue, a Labrador Retriever Rescue group located in upstate New York.

Please contact the Transport Coordinator, Donna Schwender, directly at schwender@aol.com (@aol.com) if you can help move this precious pooch to his eagerly-awaiting foster family in NY. As mentioned below, ALL OF THE LEGS LISTED ARE FLEXIBLE. If you can drive part of a leg or a longer leg (or even a different leg than the one listed), please just let us know.

There is also some flexibility to do this transport on Sunday, January 20th, instead of Saturday, if need be. Again, please just let us know which day works best for you.

Preferred Meeting Place Suggestion (if you have one):

**ALL OF THE LEGS LISTED BELOW ARE FLEXIBLE**

If you can drive part of a leg or a longer leg, please just let me know. Legs are not numbered to allow for such possible changes.

Feel free to suggest meeting places. For safety reasons, we simply don't list them on our general requests for driver assistance. Meeting places are also subject to change depending on driver preference and/or agreement.

As with ALL transports, please be prepared for this transport to run slightly behind or ahead of schedule. While we try our hardest to have it run on time, we want everyone to travel safely.

This transport will be monitored.

Fifteen minutes have been added to each leg to allow for a walk and potty break.

http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9785882
Gender: Male
Breed: Chocolate Labrador Retriever
Age: ~2-years-old (~70-75 pounds)
Altered: Will be done by receiving rescue
Vaccines: Rabies, distemper, bordatella, and dewormed
Heartworm Status: Unknown; will test once he arrives in foster care
General Health: Good
Good with Cats/Kids/Dogs: He is an affectionate dog. The shelter girls tested him with other dogs outside and all he wanted to do was play. He loved the company! Reported to have "playfully" chased cats while at a foster's home for a couple of days, but this has not been witnessed at the shelter - in fact he behaved well when tested with them in the shelter adoption room. Mild mannered and affectionate with adults and teenagers; unsure about with young children.
Items Provided: Leash, collar, and paperwork
Items To Provide: Crate if you'd like one, water, bowl, extra leash and collar/harness
Car Riding Behavior: Arrived at the shelter in the back of a car and seemed OK; energetic though so might be best crated.
Known Medical/Behavioral Problems: None known
