good news and testing question

I don't normally comment on clearances, but wanted to say that my sweet (but crazy) Jenny just received her CNM certification. Since I have bred her to a dog that is long since dead, I did want at least one of them cleared for most of the genetic problems we see today. I haven't decided if I am willing to "waste" another couple of straws to have Jack's semen tested for CNM and EIC. We did send one to OptiGen a few years ago and got that clearance. Frankly, it didn't seem "good business" to pay annual storage fees for semen from a dog that could have been a carrier or even potentially affected with PRA. He was collected and frozen young and left the country, so we wouldn't have any idea if he had or carried PRA without the test. How about others who have stored semen from those "old line" dogs. Have you been using some of that "liquid gold" to do genetic testing?????
