Tesicular tumor - seminoma

During a routine semen collection earlier this week, my vet noted my 8 1/2 year old labrador's left testicle, to be soft and slightly misshapened. Semen quality poor (315 million) with abnormal cells.

Ultrasound of abdomen including prostate (and rectally) normal.

The testiscle was removed today, leaving the other. Pathology examination results hopefully will confirm, seminoma - an apparent common for older dog (or human) non metastasizing tumor.

My question is, have any posters dogs, had this "apparent" common diagnosis? How common is common?

How was it found? Visually he looked normal, with no other symptoms. My labs are with me virtually 24/7.
Was any further treatment required?

Thankyou for reading.
