Any thoughts on the Furminator. I bought one for 65 bucks at Petsmart. The website claims there is no blade. But it appears to cut the fur out. I already threw out the receipt. Thinking of donating it to a rescue group.

I like it but don't use it all the time as it will break down the coat. On a regular basis, I use a long tined rake to get the undercoat out.

Blade or no blade, it somehow cuts the coat.

It is a blade - it looks like the top blade of a pair of Oster type clipper blades. So there is a sharp edge on the teeth.

I've heard lots of people say they cut the coat too so I never bought one. I use a horse blade to pull the coat out of the dogs.
