Eyes

Please, entropion. A pup I sold to a pet family has this. They got a quote of $800.00 for surgery. I said I would share half the expenses for surgery. We live an hour and a half from N.Y.C. Is this price excessive? I suggested they get 2 more opinions. If its $800.00 so be it, I won't go back on my word to help defray the cost. Thanks for your feedback.

Re: Eyes

In our clinic it depends on whether it is both eyes, uppers only/ lowers only or both. Usually $300 - $350 per eye along with ophthalmic ointment and a e-collar.

Re: Eyes

Thank you. Upper, also, maybe lower to, one eye.

Re: Eyes

We paid $1000.00 per pupppy last year. We had another entropian puppy to to a pet home who ended up developing it so I paid for his surgery as well. The eye dr who does our regular cerfs was the one who performed the eye surgery. It's expensive when a specialist gets involved.

Re: Eyes

On a pup under 5 or 6 months tacking can be an amazing fix. Some times their heads can grow in different stages and the pup just needs to grow into everything so if you can tack and keep the eye healthy for another month in may correct. We had an excellent result from tacking, it was however $200.00 by a Specialist. Good luck!

Re: Eyes

I agree with "Great Idea". A simple tack usually will correct it and it costs around $200-250.

Re: Eyes

Tacking is okay in a young one and works sometimes and sometimes a waste of money. Depends on each dog. I paid $500. several years ago so being where you are everything seems to cost more, that might be an okay price. Are they good. Lets do right by the dog.

Re: Eyes

Breeder too, I wouldn't have gone on this site if I didn't want whats best for the dog. I wanted feed back, which I received from caring people. Thank you one and all for you help.

Re: Eyes

I meant is the vet good. I would get second opinion for the dog, have seen some over do the eyes.
