Frontline Plus

I have purchased Frontline Plus from the same online company that I have used for years. I recently bought a new batch, only to see that 2 of the dogs have had some reaction to it. It has left a big scabby area.
I have never seen this in any of my dogs before. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered such a problem?

Re: Frontline Plus

I had the same in one of my younger adults. I treated them a week before Potomac, and she wound up with what looked like a burn. I'm hesitant to use the regular Frontline, so I opted to use Ultra Shield Equine spray. So far, it has worked well as a repellent and no skin irritation.

You can report the reaction to Merial as I did.

Re: Frontline Plus

I had the same reaction-switched to just plain frontline and it has been fine. Mine was purchased thru my vet.

Re: Frontline Plus

Happened to me also, with Frontline Plus, using Frontline regular, no problems to date.

Re: Frontline Plus

Same here...I only use the regular Frontline and have had no skin issues. Used to have a male that would react to the Frontline Plus.

Re: Frontline Plus

You can't always trust when you buy it on line. Many manufactures won't back the product unless its sold by a vet. I always buy it from my vet. May cost a little more but it gives me some piece of mind.

Re: Frontline Plus

Had the same reaction with Frontline Plus, went back to Regular Frontline

Re: Frontline Plus

For whatever reason site reactions seem to occur more frequently with Plus than Regular. Also dogs that react to Plus often times will not with Regular. Just what we heard "in the trenches" calling on clinics. Some clinics switched completely back to regular because they were unhappy with the increase in incidence of site reactions. It is a application site reaction to the carrier agent in the product. Hope this helps~!
