Hi, just thought some of you that followed the thread on my 2 strangles puppies at 2wks might like to know that the 2nd baby girl now almost 4wks is totally well and fine. She's so darn cute! I think we kinda get more attached to those ones that we've had to run roughshod over due to whatever.

There is no doubt in my mind that what saved her was opening up her neck, draining and keeping it open and draining. And of course the clavamox but I had also given her naxcel injections for several days too. Pred was simply not an option at this wee young age.

I wish I'd insisted my vet open the neck of the one girl I'd lost. I believe, she too, would've been saved by doing so. After some research, I insisted on the 2nd one.

Just wanted you to know that if this happens to you at this young of an age, don't hesitate to open that neck up and don't wait. My one baby girl was gone within 2 days of her swelling.
