Previous Pyo and current heat

I have a 3 year old female that has had one litter. On her following heat she developed open pyo which was treated successfully with prostaglandins and cipro.

She is back in heat now and I know I should be breeding her but I really dont want to, I have two litters on the ground and would rather skip her. I am planning on running on a few pups out of these litters so the breeding would be just a breeding and I guess that is why I am so torn.

Has anyone ever skipped a heat after pyo? should I consider a prevention of antibiotics for a few months just in case or should I just breed?

No I dont want to spay her

Re: Previous Pyo and current heat

You need to ask your vet, but I think you're asking for trouble if you don't breed her. Can you ask your friends if any of them have time to whelp a litter? It is probably in her best interest to do so.
