I am compiling information on liver disease in Labrador Retrievers, for an eventual article.
I am looking for documented information on all types of liver disease regardless of causation: environmentally caused, toxicity reactions affecting the liver such as Rimadyl toxicity or other drug or toxin, chronic active hepatitis, cholangiohepatitis, cancer, or any other documented diagnoses of liver disease. A documented diagnosis would be by labwork, ultrasound, etc. and, if available, biopsy results.
I will not publish names of dogs or owners, and the information provided is totally voluntary. I will also be consulting with veterinarians for this article, but would like to include Labrador owners and breeders and their experiences with liver disease in Labradors.
I am always asked why there is so much liver disease in Labrador Retrievers and hope to begin to find some answers with this article (or maybe generate more questions!).
